Funeral services for Imogene Janet Evans will be at 1 p.m. Monday, February 26, 2018, at the Waynoka First Baptist Church with Pastor Brian Holland and Rev. David Shaw officiating. Interment will be in the Memorial Hill Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home of Waynoka, LLC.

Imogene Janet Evans, daughter of the late Charles Schroeder and the late Dorothy (Cox) Schroeder Brown, was born May 13, 1934, in Alva, Oklahoma, and passed away February 22, 2018, at her home in Woods County, Oklahoma, at the age of 83 years, 9 months and 9 days.

Imogene graduated from Alva High School. On August 31, 1952, she was united in marriage to Lester Marion Evans in Alva, Oklahoma. They lived in Maize, Kansas, and Alva for a total of ten years before moving to Waynoka in 1962. They farmed and ranched northwest of Waynoka.

She enjoyed cooking, sewing and gardening. She was a talented musician, singing and playing the piano and organ. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Imogene is survived by her husband, Lester Evans, of Waynoka; her son, John Mark Evans and wife, Katrina, of Pampa, Texas; her daughter, Lisa Lopshire and husband, Monte, of Waynoka; two brothers, Darrel Schroeder and wife, Sandy, of Cherokee, Jack Brown and wife, Linda Kay, of Alva; five sisters, Connie Truax of Florida, Pat Collins of Oklahoma City, Carolyn Rogers and husband, Kent, of Oklahoma City, Terri Collins, and Jerri Koehler of Oklahoma City.

Also surviving are five grandchildren, Sara Evans of Pampa, Texas; J.R. Zimbleman and wife, Lindsey, of Waynoka; Kathina Kygar and husband, Waylon, of Guymon; Leslie Golbek and significant other, Cole Bence, of Waynoka; and Kristen Hubbard and significant other, Jeff Bartwick, of Sayre; six great-grandchildren, Alex Hubbard, Jocelynn Williams, Joseph Hubbard, Jordan Carpenter, Grady Kygar and Reese Kygar; other relatives and friends.

Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the charity of your choice.
