Enjoy your families, friends and good food. I am excited about the Scribner reunion because cousins from Nebraska and Canada are coming for the first time in years. Please say a prayer for all the veterans that have our country free.

Say what?? A new law prohibits Kansas police from having sex with people in custody. So much for my fantasy with a Kansas highway patrol woman. Thirty-three states evidently don't have laws prohibiting officers from having sex with detainees of all kinds. I would hope they had enough decency and job pride to resist anyhow. On the other hand, the state might have been losing millions on fair trade fine losses. The new swearing-in wording for new officers has been changed to: I promise to protect, serve, guard and defend the public, and not fool around for the ticket money.

The governor vetoed the constitutional carry law. I would have liked the law better if there wasn't so many nuts on the Oklahoma tree. On a related note, the OSBI wasn't a bit worried about our safety per this press release: The state bureau of investigation, which issues handgun licenses, had opposed the bill, saying it would cost the agency about $4.7 million annually and result in the loss of about 60 full-time positions. So much for concern for our safety.

I try to limit my "Jim moments" as much as possible, but age and awkwardness make it tough sometimes.

A friend of mine needed a trailer, so we finally got some tires that held air on it and I delivered the trailer. the building that I was to leave the trailer at was on a slope. I start down the hill and was figuring where to put it, when I missed the drive, and suddenly drive off a four foot cliff. My life flashed before my eyes (kinda sad, really) as my truck and trailer went over the edge. Fortunately, I went off squarely and just bounced a little. Where is the camera operator when you need them?

This week had a couple sad moments in it. Wednesday, K&S Tire had a great meal (or so I was told), and my fellow Democrats met for snacks and a plotting session.

I have been feeling poorly all week, so I didn't attend either free food event, see you next time and thanks for the invite.

Someone wanting to keep the hospital numbers up suggested I go anyhow and infect as many people as I could. Bad idea!!
