At a special meeting of the Burlington School Board last Thursday, the board accepted the resignation of Principal Lane Pruett and his wife Kirsten Pruett, teacher and longtime coach of the Lady Elks.
A call to Principal Pruett found the couple will be employed by Cherokee Public Schools. Pruett said he will teach there and she will teach and coach.
