Pepe Le Pew (the girl-hugging skunk) was found dead in the middle of the highway. Witnesses said he mumbled something about never meaning to be anything but entertainment before running out on the highway in front of the station wagon. A group of thin-skinned idiots that were offended about his cartoon antics were singing "Dead Skunk in the Middle of the Road" along the side of the highway. I am sure each one of you is offended about something. I know as I tell jokes, flirt or compliment someone, I probably have offended a few people myself. I worry about it a little, but hopefully I give more happiness that offensiveness.
I am not going into what offends other people because that is their business, but what offends me. I have watched cartoons and westerns for nearly 70 years, and never once has Elmer Fudd caused me to kill anyone. At all major functions (halftime shows, Grammys, etc.) it is the norm to have shows that are immoral or degrading to a sex or race. I don't particularly want a Billy Graham show, but isn't there something decent to use?
The police are under fire for some serious lapses in judgment and protested against, yet it is perfectly fine for a gang member, or supporter of gangs to rap about killing cops and raping women while displaying women as subhumans. Where is the indignation? Do the supporters of these songs think the singers are not talking about their race, too?
They have taken down religious symbols, mostly the Ten Commandments around the country. Our country's byline is "In God We Trust." Let's stop pacifying minorities and get back to using more Godlike decisions to guide our leaders and country. I am offended that innocent businesses are destroyed by criminals posing as protesters. Sic Elmer Fudd on these lowlifes. That's enough for now. I'm sure I can be offended by something else by next week. We have become a nation of idiots blaming cartoons and statues for our problems.
Prez Joe and Congress used the new math to give out the stimulus checks: $1.9 trillion equates out to $14,329 they borrowed per taxpayer to give us $1,400. It offends me that we are so gullible we think they did it to save us.
One of the better Facebook quotes: The world is all caught up in what offends everyone. We should be worried about what offends God. Amen.
