Quit asking me to pull off my mask

October 31, 2021

I am NOT wearing an old guy mask, I am an old guy.

I hope you had/have a happy Halloween. Also, thanks to the folks that sponsored the rodeo on the square Wednesday. This is a great thing for the kids to enjoy.

I have had an entertaining week or so in the hauling business. A week ago, Friday, I hauled a load to Ponca City to promote my economy. Everything went perfect, no flat tires, the crew over there got me unloaded quickly, and I was back in Alva by eleven o'clock, which may be a record on return time.

Sunday, I decided to go get my treasures from Doman's auction. Everything went as smooth as it could. The tractor didn't want to leave with me, but with proper words and blocks it lost the battle. I got hooked up to the pickup pretty easily, and as I finished Mrs. Doman came out and we had a nice visit.

It all went well until the pickup jerked a bit. I pulled in the Smok Shak drive, and the wheel was smoking. A Cherokee friend pulled in to see if I needed help. I told him I would just turn the truck around and go slower the rest of the way home. As I pulled over on the side road, Todd jumped out of his car with a fire extinguisher, and put out the fire on the wheel he noticed as I pulled away. Thank goodness for friends who pay attention to me and carry fire extinguishers. After turning around, the rest of the trip was uneventful, and I got home just right for supper, which was fixed by family, and was great as ever.

I went back to Ponca City last Tuesday, and the trip was fine except for the new help's confusion, and a 2-hour unload time. I dropped Dad off at the Casino, and I think he upped my inheritance a bit. Go Dad!

Our government never gives a rest on the being stupid for our money program. First, they are still trying to figure out a humane, pain-free way to kill the killers. Why should it matter how much pain they have being executed, after the terrible pain they have caused so many? If you just want a pain-free death for these animals, a shot to the head with a .44 magnum will be the best way to go. If everyone else is squeamish, I just happen to have a .44 magnum and not much to do next week. Not a Christian attitude you say? Ask a family member that lost someone to a useless death how they want it handled.

If drugs are your punishment of choice, there are drug dealers who can furnish something to make them happy as it kills them. The state had an execution Thursday, and sure enough had problems with getting it right. Second, is the same old story. If you have power and influential friends, you are above the law.

A bank vice president, Ernst Currier of Enid, was sentenced to 13 and a half years for 33 felonies on March 6, 2018. He only stole over six million dollars. He was released to community supervision Tuesday. Does this mean he will be supervised on the golf course by his buddies? He served three and a half years out of 13. I wonder how much of the money the banks and people ever got back? If he was poor, he would have served every day. Shame on the probation system.

Let's all be safe out there and God bless.
