Capron parade and Thanksgiving

November 28, 2021

Great job, Capron, Oklahoma, local Randy McCullough for arranging the parade in Capron on Thanksgiving Day! There were about 20 different things in the short but fun parade. Didn't ever find a video of it, but did see some pictures on Facebook. The infamous Ric Towns family Grinch and Elves made it, along with Alva's visiting dignitary, Arden Chaffee, and wife Nicki. It looked like all had a blast. Thanks to all that attended, and see you next year. I hope you and yours had a great Thanksgiving holiday.

Our official meal was Friday evening. Justin was "frying" a turkey. Sounded strange, but I bet it was good. Plans don't always work out like they are supposed to. Dad, brother Jack, Cleo and I were going to Dodge City, Kansas, to the casino on Thursday, but Cleo didn't feel well, so the trip was canceled. Jack had already gotten here, so he and dad visited the day away. Cleo recovered pretty well, and I got some cleaning done. Justin was going to have us over for supper, so Michelle and he brought supper to us. Dad and Jack joined us, and I had a good visit with one of my two favorite brothers. The food was great as always and it turned out to be a good Thanksgiving Day after all.

Talk about an all-points bulletin and search. November 23, dog Sully, belonging to some of Rick Cunningham's visiting family, wandered off. A search was started, and finally Thursday he was found. There was a young lady with a huge grin posted with the escape artist on Facebook, making it worth all the effort put into the search. There was also a picture of the dog with a big happy grin on his face. If I were a dog and stranded in Alva, it would not be the high point of my career!

Poor Bubba! His wife came home from Walmart complaining about the cashier being a royal pain. He asked her if she was at the self-checkouts, and that's why he cooked his own supper.

Let's all be safe out there and God bless.
