Excise-Equalization Board keeps same officers

The Woods County Excise-Equalization Board elected officers during their meeting on July 20. Joe Shirley will remain as chairman, and Chris Olson will continue as vice-chairman. The third member of the board, Bob Seivert, was also present.

A list of temporary appropriations was re-approved. The board approved them earlier, but the auditor expects them to be approved again in the new fiscal year which began July 1. Temporary appropriations re-approved were for Woods County, Woods County Health Department, Alva Public Schools, Waynoka Public Schools, Freedom Public Schools, Northwest Technology Center, and Town of Dacoma.

The board then approved the application for temporary appropriations for the Town of Freedom totaling $86,098.25 and based on 90 percent of last year’s budget. That application was not received in time to approve earlier.

Board members acknowledged transfer of appropriations from the Sheriff Courthouse Security M & O to the Service Fee M & O in the amount of $29,764.03, and the Sheriff Courthouse Security Capital Outlay to the Service Fee Capital Outlay in the amount of $12,293.81.

They acknowledged transfers from Highway District 1 CIRB to Highway District 1 personal services in the amount of $4,880.49 and from District 2 CIRB to District 2 personal service in the amount of $4,880.48. These transfers had been approved earlier by the Woods County Commissioners.

A transfer of funds from District 2 CBIR to the ETR fund for payment in the amount of $10,000 was approved by the board. This is a payment on a state no-interest loan used for road materials.

With no further business, the excise board portion of the meeting was adjourned.
