Two local students receive scholarships from WCEDA

Thelma Crouch, Woods County Retired Educators Association treasurer (middle), presents Kaleigh Henke (left) and Mattie Ann Pitts scholarships to Northwestern Oklahoma State University to help them pursue their teaching degree.

Thelma Crouch, treasurer of the Woods County Retired Educators Association, presented scholarships to two students at Northwestern Oklahoma State University. These scholarships will assist them as they pursue their teaching degrees.

Mattie Ann Pitts is a junior from Waynoka majoring in Early Childhood Education. Ever since she was 5 years old she knew she wanted to be a teacher. After graduation she plans to teach in a rural school in Northwest Oklahoma and turn her passion into a lifelong career.
