On March 1, the Burlington junior high and high school choirs traveled to NWOSU in Alva to compete in the district vocal competition. The songs performed were "Homeward Bound" and an a capella song, "Bonse Aba," which were directed by Isi Ofiu.

The choir received an excellent rating on their performance. The Burlington select choir received a superior rating on their ensemble, as well as seven students who presented solos during the competition. All of the soloists and select choir members are scheduled to compete at the state vocal competition on April 20, at OBU in Shawnee.

The students received additional assistance from Assistant Music Director Rachael Spears and their accompanist, Raye Lyn Bird.
