I have been going through the food inventory at our house to use up some of it. I would buy something that Cleo liked to eat, and after it hit the freezer, it disappeared. Between some stories on MSN, and warnings from Grace and Michelle, I am not so optimistic about out-of-date stuff. Canned goods will be okay for a while after the expiration date. Lettuce not so much.

I called Michelle to ask if the two years out of date shrimp would be okay, she said probably not, but I could feed it to the cats, and if they don't croak it might have been okay for me. I am no stranger to out-of-date foods....
