Kim Barker, College Hill Church of Christ|Feb 11, 2022

“Choose this day whom you will serve” (Joshua 24:15). Joshua led the Israelites into the land of Canaan, divided the land among the 12 tribes and established them there. Numerous times he told them to “be strong and courageous to do according to all the law that you may prosper wherever you go.” Then he tells them again: “Be strong and of good courage, do not be afraid, do not be dismayed, for the Lord is with you wherever you go.” Later he says, “take careful heed to yourselves, that you love the Lord your God.” Again, he tells them to be cour...

  • Curiosity

    Arden Chaffee|Feb 11, 2022

“Curiosity killed a cat,” but cats aren’t the only curious animals. Humans also wonder what is going on. The information edge drives social media and most Facebook followers revel in the latest news. What is your reaction when you hear the sirens? Are you curious or just nosy? We always step outside to see which way they go. Occasionally we have summoned them to our house. One time the sound stopped across the street. Bob Stewart was surprised by the ambulance crew bursting in. The 911 calle...

  • Random Thoughts

    Roger Hardaway|Feb 11, 2022

During any regular National Football League (NFL) season, almost 2,000 athletes will play one or more games. Each of the league’s 32 teams has a playing roster at any one time of 53 athletes plus five more on a “practice squad.” Additional players will be signed during the season. Typically, teams will promote athletes from their practice squad to play a game or two while some regular player is unable to perform. That happened this past season to one of the most unique athletes ever to play...

  • Forgiveness and the Kingdom of Heaven

Rev. Louis C. Garcia III, Alva Wesleyan Church|Feb 11, 2022

Have you ever wondered what heaven will be like? As a pastor, I constantly think about heaven and ask God to use me everyday to help people come to know Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and savior to secure their eternal living place. Yet I always remember how Jesus taught us in Matthew 6:10 to pray that God’s will be done here on earth as it is in heaven. This always challenges me to not only seek heaven as a place where I will spend all eternity, but also consider how we can live and experience heaven now in our everyday lives. Today, I wa...
