Carroll L. Devinney was born on October 7, 1940, to H. C. "Pete" Devinney and Edna Devinney in Alva, Oklahoma. He was the younger of two sons and is survived by his brother, Donald Ray Devinney, of Liberal, Kansas. Carroll is also survived by his two children, Angela Sue (Bryan) Schenk and Darrin C. The Alva Airport Commission will look at amending an owner-engineer agreement with Parkhill for the design of an above ground jet fuel storage tank when they meet on Monday. The regular meeting is set for 7 p.m. in the airport terminal. Commission members will look at financial reports from October and November and hear a report from Alva City Council. The only race that developed in school board filings in Woods County was between Frank Eiery and Benjamin Baker. Both men filed for Office 3, which is an unexpired term. On Friday, the Woods County Election Board reported that Benjamin Baker has withdrawn his candidacy. With his withdrawal, there will be no school board election in April for any of the Woods County districts. From her earliest years, Amber Andersen has been focused on art. She started "pretty much as early as I could hold a pencil. Two Woods County women were involved in a two-vehicle collision in Blaine County on Wednesday. The collision occurred at 2:45 p.m. at the intersection of US-270 and OK-58, which is nine miles west of Watonga. Toni L. Sixteen teams from Oklahoma and Kansas, including three from Alva, met in games to test their abilities early in the season. The Alva Ladybugs drew Cimarron, Kansas, in the first round of the Alva Shootout Thursday night. The Ladybugs pretty much controlled the game from the start, leading 21-7 at the end of the first quarter. The Cimarron Lady Blue Jays improved to 11 points in the second, but Alva had a blazing 25 point total. At halftime, the Ladybugs led 46-18.
